Fender Stratocaster Deluxe Super Strat
I am looking at two 2007 Deluxe Strats in the emporium and they are different. I know there are many models of Strats but they are both being advertised as 2007 Deluxe Strats. One is a SSH configuration and the other has SSS configuration.
1997 Deluxe Player or Super Strat? Discussion in '. I checked and I was correct from Fender:The Deluxe Player Stratocaster guitar is a revised version of the former “Super Strat.” A true workhorse of a guitar, it has been upgraded with U.S.-made Vintage Noiseless™ pickups, and it features a 12” neck radius, medium-jumbo frets and a. Fender Deluxe Strat/Tele Case - Tweed w/ Red Poodle Plush Interior. Released the Deluxe Player's Stratocaster, an updated version of the former Super Strat.
Neither of them have Vintage bent bridge saddles which I thought were standard on Deluxe Strats. They both do have locking tuners and one of them has the S1 switching system. What kind of pickups come stock with this guitar? Please educate me on this Strat.

I don't think the USA Deluxe series ever came with vintage saddles. The Deluxe is supposed to be one of the nice modern strats in the USA series. As far as I know, all of them have the locking tuners. The pickups have transitioned over time, from the Lace Sensors in the earlier 'plus' guitars to later Noiseless, then finally to the SCNs (Samarian Cobalt Noiseless). I think there is a new version of the SCN now.I do know they offered both the sss and the ssh configurations in recent years.
They also offered standard neck and v neck options. What about the body wood, are the 2007 Deluxes all made from Alder? When you say they come with a standard neck would that be a medium C neck profile.
How about the neck radius. I read that these come with a compound radius, is that the case? This paticular guitar doesn't have a roller nut, did they also come with a bone nut option? I am ready to pull the trigger on this and the seller doesn't seem to know the answers but it is a beautiful looking guitar, its hard to tell if it's Sienna Burst or three tone Sunburst.
Thanks again for your input and info! I believe these would have been the features in the deluxe line in '07:Neck Shape: Medium C (except V-shaped model)Neck Radius: 9.5'Neck Inlays: Abalone DotsFingerboard: Maple or RosewoodTuners: Fender/Schaller LockingNut: LSR Roller Nut on Fat Strat, standard on othersBody: Alder (except Ash on Ash model)Pickups: Somarium Cobalt NoiselessBridge: 2-point with steel block saddlesSwitching: S1 on most if not all modelsCase: Fender/SKB Molded Hard CaseI think that's right. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The other posts list the basic specs for these. There were several models back in 2007:1. American Deluxe Strat - alder body with 3 single coils2. American Deluxe HSS Strat - alder body, HSS pickups3.
American Deluxe Ash Strat - ash body, 3 single coils4. American Deluxe V-neck Strat - alder body, 3 single coils, maple fingerboard only5. American Deluxe FMT Strat - alder body with flamed maple top, HSS, master tone6.
American Deluxe QMT Strat - alder body with quilt maple top, HSS, master toneThe FMT and QMT had ebony fingerboards most years; I think 2007 was the last year for them and they might have had a rosewood fingerboard that year. Also all necks were 1 11/16' wide at the nut except for the V-neck which could be 1.650' wide. Now I had a 2004 V-neck (first year of that model) for a while and it did have the 1.650' wide neck; others who have had later ones have measure theirs at 1 11/16' wide so I have no idea when they changed (or if mine was a 1st-run anomaly). Most American Deluxes had a fitted-type molded case; I believe only some of the late 2009/early 2010 models came with the current Fender SKB rectangular case with TSA latches (and of course the new-spec 2010s that just came out have the new case). The two figured top models should have a brown tolex (dark brown, not the early 60s pinkish tan) G&G case.Hope that helps.

Fender Deluxe Strat Review

Thanks for the replys and info, I think it's an American Deluxe Ash SSS with a Corian nut. It has a very similar finish to the guitar shown above this post but it seems to be a little darker from the pictures the seller posted. It also has a plain white. Not pearl pick guard. He said it has S1 pickups, I believe he meant that it has an S1 switching system.
It has a fitted type molded case. I will probably change the pickups to either Bardens or Kinmans. I've read mixed reviews on the SCN pickups.
While the price difference between the Squier and Fender stratocasters is considerably smaller than with the, there's still little doubt that the Fender name alone represents a hefty chunk of the price you pay for a Mexican and USA made Strat.Like in most industries, you inevitably pay in part for a name and its reputation. As the Stratocaster has become one of, if not the most iconic guitars of all time, there's a lot of weight behind the Fender brand from its prestigious history. That alone adds a significant premium.Let's take a closer look at how they compare. Squier Strat vs Fender Strat - General CriteriaOf course, the problem with trying to make any direct comparisons between the Squier and Fender is that there are over a dozen models, each with different pickups and their own individual features. Apples and oranges come to mind.
However, there are certain differences, intrinsic to the production of the guitars, that can help us weigh up the overall difference in quality. Fender American Strat ManufacturingMany of these differences you'll already know, such as today's Squier guitars being produced in China and Indonesia, where labour and manufacturing is far cheaper than in the US.There was a retrospective golden era for Squier during the 80s with their Japanese and models. Many experienced players will tell you the quality of the MIJ (made in Japan) models was as close to the MIA (made in America) Fenders as you'll find. You can still find these going under the hammer on Ebay, but they are no longer considered true budget guitars - again, their history and reputation precedes them and inflates their value!US made Fender Strats receive more hands-on attention during the production process, which means more discerning quality control for each individual guitar at each step of the way.Key elements affected by this are truss rod and bridge installation, neck joining and nut, fret and body finishing.
It all adds up to a higher quality, impeccably finished product. Quality still varies, of course, but with more hands-on workmanship, there's less chance of a 'bad batch', more likely the odd one or two falling below par. That's why, even with $1000+ guitars, it's important to try out several models in store if you can.
Materials & ComponentsMaterials are another major criteria in cost difference. When producing in the numbers Squier do (technically Fender, since they own Squier), even what would be under a dollar's worth of saving on, say, an output jack or thinner wiring, works out hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of saving over a year of production and hundreds of thousands of guitars. So when people talk about Squiers consisting of cheaper materials, taking the parts individually it's more subtle than you might think. But extrapolated across the entire production quantity it all adds up and it becomes clear how Fender can afford to sell even their highest quality Squier models at less than $400 a piece. Mexican Strats vs Squier Strats. Squier Classic Vibe StratA cheaper alternative to the MIA Fender Strat is the MIM (made in Mexico) Strat, with the Mexican Standard going for around $600 new, compared to over $1000 for the American Standard. Squier Classic Vibe vs Fender USA DeluxeBlind test - answer below!Answer: Guitar #1 was the Fender Bottom LineFor those who can't afford the American Standard and were therefore thinking of getting the MIM, save a couple hundred more bucks, swallow some pride and go for the instead.
