Apr 23, 2018  It migh be worth checking the left CAN bus bar, its located in the wire guttering along the front door opening, there may be a broke wire of a corroded connector. The other bus bars are located under the dash on the passenger side and in the right hand wire guttering along the drivers door opening.

My guess is the problem will be with the module that listens to the can bus for messages from the Upper Control Panel and delivers power to the heating element in the seat. If I knew where the modules were I could try swapping them with a known working one (I have access to another clk where the heated seats work). If I open and close the door it works. It doesnt seem to make a difference whether I insert the key before or after I close the door. I have a seam that tore apart on the top part of my front seat. Id like to remove the top half of the seat or maybe just the cushion and leather and take it in for repair. While tapping motor be sure that someone is moving the switch at the same time that you tap. If its a dead spot you need the current going for it to hop to a good spot on the motor windings. I just puchased a 2001 clk 430 with 46000 on it. My AC doesnt come out of the middle vents just the side and through the defroster how do I fix this. Also i have a wierd rattle noise when i start the motor up and when i accelerate under the driver floor board. I took it to a benz dealer and they said i need to replace the cat. I heard from afriend said it probably is the stupid heat shield. What ya think. If it is the shield how can i fix for now. Dont have 1200 handy.
